Which Adjustments are Reasonable?

The core nature or core duties of a job role are taken into account when deciding:

  • which adjustments are reasonable,
  • whether someone is capable of doing a job or not,
  • or if adjustments should/could be made.

Reasonable Adjustments can be simple things. There is a government scheme called Access to Work which can sometimes help individuals with advice and funding for adjustments. (Employers might have to pay for part of their support.) Funding availability will depend on your organisation's size and resources.

Access to Work offers support and advice specifically for mental as well as physical health and neurodivergence.
