Types of Conversations

Examples of wellbeing and mental health conversations a manager might have include:

  • Regular catch ups that involve asking how someone is as well as about their workload or priorities
  • An informal and unplanned conversation, when there are signs someone might need support
  • Part of a return to work process
  • A conversation when someone is absent due to poor health, caring responsibilities, or a loss
  • Informal conduct, performance, work relationship and mental health conversations
  • More formal conversations as part of a disciplinary, performance or grievance process
