There is no one right way for people to react and cope after a suicide. Whether we had a close relationship with someone who died by suicide or didn’t know them at all, it’s essential to recognise that grief is deeply personal, and we all react in different ways. 

It is estimated that for every person who dies by suicide, on average about 15 people are emotionally injured because of sudden traumatic loss. Losing someone close, by suicide, likely changes that person forever. It is likely that the person will never be the same again.
