Joel's journey explains the different stages he goes through, from having no thoughts of suicide to having thoughts.

He started with no thoughts of suicide; in fact, he was enjoying life and didn't have any concerns.

When things got to an all-time low, he started having serious thoughts about suicide, thinking about how he could do it.

As things did not improve, these thoughts turned into the danger zone. He couldn't find anyone who would help him stay safe.

Once he began to execute the plan, his thoughts turned into action, which is what we call "suicide behaviour".

Suicide behaviour has only two possible outcomes. Fortunately, the most likely outcome, for most people who do suicide behaviour is life. Most people who do suicide behaviour will live.

The other outcome, though rare, is death, which is the final destination on the continuum. Some people who do suicide behaviour will die, which is the sad and tragic consequence of this journey.
