Some children may:
- struggle with complex instructions
- have challenges with short term memory
- get distracted easily.
They may also struggle to organise themselves or their thoughts.

Visual reminders, checklists and listed routines can sometimes help us communicate what needs doing, minimise confusion and prevent fallouts.
Visual aids might be useful for:
✅ bedtime
✅ morning routines
✅ homework planning
✅ preparing for an outing.
Sometimes a visual aid (picture) and a written list can be helpful:

Simple lists linking the image and the words together can really help some children. Asking children for their own ideas for visual aids and creating them with you can encourage independence.
Other children may need more specialist support. Speak to an SEN specialist or occupational health for more advice.
